We participated in a Solarize project in 2019, but unlike the other participants, we were replacing our existing “hobby” system, a 1.2K, 8 panel system installed in 2007. When I told the solar system installer that I wanted a replacement system that would be part grid-tied, part off-grid, they turned me over to a consultant, Rocky Buldo (https://enoughtechnologies.org/) and his recommendation was to use a SolArk 8K as the heart of our system. The installed system consists of 20 330W panels, 30 LiFePo4 (15s2p) batteries a Solark8K, a transfer switch and a Wi-Fi interface. The installation was completed in January 2020. 7 house circuits were dedicated to the system through the transfer switch. During any power outage that year, those circuits were alive and well while the rest of the house was dark. According to my records we have received about 50% of the electrical power used in our house in 2020 from the SolArk controlled system.
The bottom line is that the system more than met expectations.

Rocky designed and oversaw the construction of a 7kW ground-mount solar array. Also installed was an electric car charger which allows excess energy to be stored rather than sold back to the power company at a loss. We have realized huge savings on our electricy and fuel bills
